Is There A Benefit To Being A Christian?

Hi, this is John Beckett. One of the questions on people's minds is whether there's a benefit to being a believer. I can say from my own experience, yes, in every way. There's a passage in the New Testament in the book of 2 Peter that assures us that God has given us everything for life and godliness. Sometimes people fall into a trap of thinking that they can barter with God. In other words, if I do this, I can expect you to do that. That's actually an unhealthy type of exchange to consider. God is good. He desires good things for His people. Our relationship should not be on the basis of what we get, but on the basis of responding to His great love for us, a love which is unqualified and inexhaustible.
